The principle of a parcel mailbox is simple yet ingenious. A parcel mailbox is designed to safely receive parcels when you are not at home, in addition to regular mail and letters. It works in a similar way to a traditional mailbox, but offers extra space for larger parcels. Multiple parcels can be received at the same time.

Here's how it works:

1. Receiving parcels: The delivery person puts your parcel in the parcel letterbox. The HippoBox sticker makes it clear to every delivery person that it is a parcel letterbox. The parcel letterbox has a larger opening than a standard letterbox, making it suitable for parcels of different sizes.

2. Safe storage: Once the package has been placed in the mailbox, it is safely stored in the locked space of the mailbox. The anti-theft flap makes it impossible to fish the package out again. This prevents the package from being stolen.

3. Access to parcels: As soon as you arrive home, the parcel mailbox can be opened with your key or a code lock.

In short, a parcel mailbox offers convenience and peace of mind by receiving your parcels safely, even when you are not at home.

The dimensions of parcel mailboxes vary by model. We offer multiple sizes to meet different needs.

The smallest 2 models have dimensions of:

• 53.5 x 39 x 26 cm (HxWxD)
• 50.5 x 42 x 26 cm (HxWxD)

And the largest 2 models have a size of:

• 106x 38 x 25 cm (HxWxD)
• 100 x 44.5 x 37.5 cm (HxWxD)

To ensure you get the right dimensions for your needs, we recommend checking the product specifications. There you will find the exact dimensions of each parcel letterbox, as well as the size of the parcels that will fit in it. That way you can be sure you are choosing the right size for your situation.

This of course depends on the size of the parcels. For most models, it can be filled for approximately 75-85%. The anti-theft flap therefore takes up some space. It is good to know that a standard men's shoe box (shoe size 45) of 34x28x12cm cannot be thrown in with all models. If this is a requirement for your smaller parcel letterbox, we recommend that you coordinate this with your delivery person. The delivery person can then, for example, open the unlocked door, leave the shoe box in the smaller parcel letterbox and, after closing the door, throw the previously hidden key into the letterbox or turn the combination lock to zero.

The parcels are safely stored in our parcel mailboxes. The anti-theft flap makes it impossible to access the parcels without the correct key or code for the code lock. This gives you peace of mind that your parcels are safe, even when you are not at home.

In addition, our parcel mailboxes are designed to protect parcels from all weather conditions, including rain. They are built with durable materials that are resistant to moisture, keeping your parcels dry and safe, even during bad weather.

Yes, you can install the parcel letterbox yourself quite easily. The parcel letterbox comes with a manual in several languages* that guides you step by step through the installation process. The installation mainly requires tightening a few nuts & bolts together with drilling some holes. For a standing model, a concrete cast may be added, although a heavy tile as a base is usually sufficient. With these simple steps, you can quickly install the parcel letterbox.

Our parcel mailboxes are pre-welded together firmly and are not delivered as a kit. This definitely benefits the quality and saves a lot of time. The mailboxes are made of galvanized steel with a powder coating that prevents corrosion. These are mailboxes that are not only functional, but also resistant to the elements and therefore last a long time.

Warranty: At HippoBox.nl we offer a 2-year warranty on our parcel mailboxes. This warranty covers manufacturing defects and material defects for a period of two years after the date of purchase. If a problem occurs with your parcel mailbox during this period due to a manufacturing defect or material defect, we will repair or replace the product, depending on the nature of the problem. For this we do need clear photos from you.

Returns: You can return your parcel mailbox in the original packaging within 14 days after delivery if you are not satisfied or if the product does not meet your expectations.
